Pianist Laura Kennedy has distinguished herself across the nation as a solo performer as well as accompanist and chamber musician. On National Public Radio's "Performance Today", she has been featured in all three capacities. Chamber music collaborations include performances with the Florida Symphony Chamber Players, the Fairmount String Quartet, Composers in Red Sneakers, the Ibis Chamber Ensemble, and a live recital on Chicago's classical music radio station WFMT. Ms. Kennedy has performed in Avery Fisher Hall at the Mostly Mozart Festival, the MusiConnections series, in the “What Makes it Great?”series with Rob Kapilow , the Monadnock Music Festival, Killington Music Festival, the MacDowell Colony, as well as the Ottawa, Seattle, and Hartford Suzuki Institutes . Ms. Kennedy enjoys concertizing with her brother violinist Joseph Scheer and for her daughter, cellist Clara Kennedy. Laura has performed in recital with Brian Lewis in the Starling-DeLay Symposium at The Juilliard School and assisted young violinists from around the world in the Symposium masterclasses. This spring Laura and Brian Lewis will perform recitals throughout Japan. Ms. Kennedy has recently recorded new music at the Colburn School in Los Angeles with violinists Brian Lewis and composer/violinist Michael McLean, as well as a new chamber work by Howard Frazin “The Jester, the Artist, and the Little Lion”, at Harvard’s Paine Hall.
