Zaira's musicality and charisma have delighted audiences on 3 continents in a wide variety of programs ranging from solo recitals to chamber music to highly acclaimed performances as an orchestral soloist. Recent achievements include a special prize (together with duo partner Grigory Goryachev) from Italy's prestigious Academia Chigiana and recording her first solo CD for GSP Publications. 
 Zaira Meneses was born in Xalapa in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. From an early age she showed great talent for music, studying both classical guitar and voice and appearing frequently in a wide variety of venues both as a guitarist and singer. She traveled widely, performing with the famed Orquesta de Guitarra founded by Alfonso Moreno. At the age of 17, and as the youngest contestant, she won first prize in an important national concerto competition. This Success led to performances of Joaquin Rodrigo's Concerto de Aranjuez and Concerto Madrigal for Two Guitars throughout Mexico.

Meneses has formed a highly acclaimed duo with flamenco whiz Grigory Goryachev. In addition, she performs frequently with her husband, world acclaimed classical guitarist Eliot Fisk. She also evidences her talent in a great variety of other chamber music combinations. An added aspect to Ms. Meneses' artistry is her beautiful singing voice and graceful dancing, frequently featured as encores to her numerous appearances as a guitarist. She continues to appear regularly in many of the great concert halls of the world including Boston's Jordan Hall, New York City's YMHA and Salzburg's Wiener Saal.

Zaira Meneses lives in Boston with her 7 year old daughter Raquel. She enlivens the cultural life of the city of Boston through her numerous outreach activities in schools, churches, museums and hospitals while maintaining a demanding touring schedule in the Americas and Europe.
